BACAC is one of the leading athletic clubs in the South and East of England & we cater for athletes of all ages and abilities. The club competes at the highest levels in Track & Field Athletics, Road Racing and Cross Country Running.

Masters Competition
Masters Athletics is designed to provide competition for Men & Women over the age of 35 at track and field athletics, road racing and cross country running. Most road and cross country races have Masters (or Veterans) age categories. The main organisation is the British Masters Athletic Federation (BMAF). The age groups are usually 5 year bands for individuals and ten year bands for teams.
The BMAF is responsible for all representative teams for World & European Masters competition and it organise many championships itself or through its Regional affiliated clubs. The affiliated club for Bedford’s region is Eastern Masters Athletic Club. To join BMAF you must join one of the Regional affiliated clubs, this provides you with automatic membership of BMAF.
There are BMAF track and field championships, cross country championships and road race championships, you can find details of the fixtures on the BMAF website.
EMAC also organise a track and field league and various road and cross country championships, you can find details of the fixtures on the EMAC website. You can also find details of how to join EMAC on the EMAC website. As a member of Bedford & County AC you join EMAC as a second claim member. Many Bedford & County members are also EMAC members so you can ask “older” club members for more information.
